It was a rainy day, I sat by my window watching the droplets of the rain, a sight I find calming and fascinating sometimes aside bathing under it when I can or feel like it.
Not quite long, I saw the roach amidst the heavy downpour working and crawling its way gradually to safety, this time I wasn't thinking of killing it as usual,I just sat there watching to know how it will turn out.
I became fascinated by its behavior. It knew what to do and how to survive no matter how bad the weather became. It moved forward to live regardless of the storm
Its focus wasn't even on the downpour or pool of water (challenge ), but its next destination (Price). As if its focus on its next destination was propelling it to go forward regardless.
Cockroaches are the ultimate survival life form. Yeah you read that right.
They can withstand heat, cold, (you can freeze and then thaw some back to life), can eat anything and everything including plastic, the common household pest called the German cockroach can live for about a week without food and water, some can eat nothing for a month, are immune to radiation, and they are amazingly quick.
So I sat there while all this drama unfolded and all I could think was, 'if this cockroach can, why can't you?
The speed of your progress doesn't have to be as fast or as slow as anyone else's. Just make sure you're intentional about your growth and taking conscious steps towards becoming a better 'YOU' daily.
If you understand this, you will understand why imposter syndrome is not an option
I stood up better than I was when I sat down.
Sometimes, life lessons come from the most unexpected encounters.
